Research
Whether you are preparing an essay, report, or presentation, our research materials can provide added depth and perspective to your work. ?Staff members will help you find the information you need on a wide range of topics and materials. ?
Curriculum Development
We are also available to assist faculty with curriculum development. ?Our varied materials allow for a creative approach to teaching so that students can learn in innovative ways. ?We can help you integrate the use of primary resources into your lesson plans as well as development and implement larger-scale research assignments. ?Classes are also welcome to visit ECASC for informational sessions, where they can view and discuss our materials.

Institutional Records
ECASC?holds institutional records of Emerson College dating from its founding in 1880 to the present. ?These materials include - but are not limited to - student organization records, faculty papers, course catalogs, photographs, student and faculty publications, as well as departmental and affiliated theatre records.
Special Collections
ECASC also holds multiple special collections focusing on the subjects of comedy, radio, television, film, theater, the performing arts, and alumni activities. ?Records include program scripts and records, playbills, memorabilia, journals, photographs, set designs, and correspondence. ?You can find out more on our special collections page?as well as in our collections database.
American Comedy Archives
The American Comedy Archives was established in 2005 to acquire, preserve, and make available records that document the activities of groundbreaking individuals who have written, produced, or performed comedy for radio, television, motion pictures, or live performance. ?Records include more than 60 oral histories, scripts, photographs, scrapbooks, video records, LPs, and ephemera. ?For more information please visit the American Comedy Archives page.
Digital Collections
ECASC is dedicated to providing broad access to our historical materials. ?To that end, we have begun digitizing select collections in the archives. ?Materials include photographs, yearbooks, and newspapers. ?We have also created an online timeline of Emerson College history entitled ECHO. ?For more information, please view our digital collections page.
Internal Records Transfers
ECASC?encourages the internal transfer of physical and electronic records, manuscripts, publications, and other materials documenting the history of Emerson College from 1880 to the present. ?This includes faculty and student activities as well as the history of College departments and affiliated theatres. ?Our goal is to preserve all of these materials in perpetuity as well as to ensure that they are available to researchers and other patrons. ?For more information please view our records transfer instructions and form.?
Donations
ECASC is always interested in adding new materials to our special collections. ?We welcome donations from alumni as well as individuals and organizations not associated with Emerson College. ?We selectively collect materials that enhance our curriculum, including those that focus on the following subjects:

- Comedy
- Film, Television, and Radio
- Journalism
- Theater and the Performing arts.
