Throughout the month of September, hundreds of alumni across the country came together for the annual Welcome to the Neighborhood event series. Generations of Emersonians turned out to connect?with each other and showcase their school pride in 12 cities.
“It was amazing to see the Emersonian spirit displayed country-wide,” said Alumni Association President Carla Lewis ’86. “I want to personally thank all of you who raised your hands to host or attend these events in your communities.”
Thanks to a number of new organizers, the College was able to increase the opportunity for alumni to connect on a national scale. ?The series kicked off in San Francisco with the help of Michael Lupacchino ’10 and Leesha Dialani ’17. Andy Nebel ’84 and Valerie Molina ’12 spearheaded the gathering in Chicago, and DC leader Nick Garlow ’11 organized another great event in the capital.
Laura Zurowski '89 organized the meetup in Pittsburgh, and Colleen Bradley-MacArthur '01 rounded up alumni at Solas in Boston. Scott Von Doviak '89 led the efforts in Austin and Nicole Silva Blanchard ’09 connected with alumni in Philadelphia.
Later in the month, Linda Gaines ’78 gathered alumni in Cleveland. Los Angeles Chapter President Gia Galligani ’98 organized a meetup at the Federal Bar and New York President Andre Archimbaud ’94 brought together Emersonians in Greenwich Village. The series concluded with a meetup at Sip Coffee and Beer in Scottsdale, organized by alumna Saralynn Hester ’05.
