About the Program
Big Li’l E Mentorship Program serves incoming students in the Department of Performing Arts at Emerson College. The purpose of the program is twofold:
- Ease the transition for incoming Performing Arts students who are new to life on campus and in the department, and
- Strengthen connections and collaboration amongst Performing Arts students, faculty, and staff.
How does the Big Li’l E Mentorship Program work?
The “E” in the name stands for “Emersonian.” Performing Arts student mentors, called Big E’s, are selected to guide incoming undergraduate and graduate Performing Arts students, called Li’l E’s. These mentors channel all the mindfulness, creative spirit, and passion that characterizes Emerson Performing Arts students into mentoring the Li’l E.
Among these Big E’s will be Big E Leaders, assigned to 3–4 Li’l E's according to degree program. Along with serving as mentors, these particular Big E's assist in leading the program in various capacities.
You can read more about the program reviewing our?detailed Program Guide. What is most important to know is that this program exists to help guide incoming students in the Performing Arts department through their first Academic Year and beyond, as we all become colleagues in the future.
